About Us

The Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia were founded in Nashville, TN, in 1860.  We opened our Aquinas College in 1961.  We are privileged to both serve as and work with Catholic educators across the country and around the world, bringing Jesus Christ to all we meet.

Who's Going

We're inviting Catholic educators across the country and around the world to join us on this pilgrimage.  Anyone working in Catholic education--whether as teachers, administrators, superintendents, pastors, support staff, or volunteers--is welcome to be a part of this journey in which we will delve more deeply into understanding and living our mission.

The pilot Catholic Educators' Pilgrimage (June 22-July 1, 2020--with an optional extension to Assisi, July 1-3) will be led by Sister Mary Rachel Capets, O.P., Ph.D., Aquinas College's Dean of the School of Education.  Sister Matthew Marie--a professor in Aquinas' School of Education for over 20 years--will also be lending her expertise and wisdom from decades of experience to our pilgrimage group.  Our Chaplain will be Father John Belmonte, S.J., Ph.D., Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Joliet, IL.  Father Belmonte and the Sisters will serve us Catholic Educators, leading us in prayer, reflection, discussion, community, and worship.

So far, teachers from both the United States and Australia plan on joining us on this pilgrimage.
