DAY 6: Solemnity & Play--St. Paul Outside the Walls

Updated: Nov 29, 2019

St. Paul is that great Prince of the Church whose zeal and love for Christ was accompanied by humor and joy. Pilgrimage can be seen as what David Carrasco (an author on pilgrimage) calls a combination of both solemnity and play--and our classrooms are like this too!

In fact, if we reflect upon it, all of human life requires both of these aspects of the human spirit to be engaged. As we consider the life and teaching of St. Paul, we will pray in this magnificent Church whose walls will teach us what no other place can.

“For His sake I have accepted the loss of all things, and I consider them so much rubbish that I may gain Christ and be found in Him.” (Phil 3:8-9)
