DAY 7: Giving a Home to Christ in Our Hearts--St. Mary Major

Updated: Nov 18, 2019

One of the most loved and revered churches in the city of Rome is the Basilica of St. Mary Major. Dedicated to Our Lady, it holds the relics of the crib from the manger of Bethlehem.

Christ first found welcome in the womb of the Blessed Mother and then in the crib of Bethlehem. He looks now for welcome in human hearts--especially ours. Through us, our students and those we encounter will be invited to give Christ a place in their hearts too. As we renew our wonder at the Incarnation before the crib of Jesus, we can thank Him for the immense gift of His love.

“In the crib and on the Cross, He knows you with an infinite knowledge and loves you with an infinite love.” ~Pius XII
