DAY 8: Mission is Being SENT--Sts. Peter & Paul

Updated: Dec 7, 2019

To be a Catholic educator is to be sent in a manner similar to that in which the Apostles were sent. Our mission is an ecclesial mission. We can best understand ourselves as in and with the mission of the whole Body of Christ, the Church.

We will visit and pray in Saint Peter’s Basilica and find ourselves geographically and spiritually in the heart of the Church. The next day we will visit and pray in the catacombs and recall the daily martyrdom that teaching can be, the witness that bears life. We will visit the Basilica of Saint Paul, who reminds us of the power of the resurrection in a world full of questioning.

“We proclaim Christ crucified...the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (1 Cor 1:24)
